Actions/Protests/Marches--Democracy in Motion:

Please note that we will make every effort to not only let people know about

resistance events and actions, but we will also make every attempt to supply

complete and accurate information about them.

An automatic “5 calls” app will make our job of resistance easier!

MAKE THE CALLS

Please continue calling Moreno and Husted and tell them to stop the unelected Musk from having access to our private information. (202-224-3353)

The ULTIMATE act of resistance

We need to listen to AOC who is encouraging people to run for office—all offices—and flood school boards, councils, county offices, state

legislatures, etc. because “Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.”

YOUR VOICE MATTERS, AND IT TAKES ALL OF US!

Democratic Voices—Forward Thinking:

With disinformation (lies) and misinformation abounding, we need to find voices that are unafraid to speak truth to power and inspire us to do what we need to do. This space is for highlighting those people. This month, instead of listing all the people who are out there lending their voices

to the Resistance, we are suggesting that you explore some of these outlets and find one or two voices that appeal to you.

Free Speech TV is available at http://freespeech.org/ and on Dish, DirectTV, Apple TV, Roku, and Sling

https://substack.com/ is an app for progressive voices

https://progressive.org is a progressive magazine for social justice and peace since 1909

https://www.motherjones.com Mother Jones magazine

Consider checking out news outlets outside of the country like CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company), BBC News, Copenhagen Post

(Denmark), etc.

LET US KNOW WHO IS INSPIRING YOU

PLEASE LET US KNOW ABOUT LOCAL BUSINESSES THAT SHOULD BE FEATURED HERE!

Outrage--Unacceptable & Unchecked:

It seems that the whole country is marching toward all-out dictatorship, led

by two people who may very well be sociopaths.

SIGNS AND TRAITS OF A SOCIOPATH

     Hunger for power and dominance

     Devious or deceptive tendencies

     Hostile or aggressive toward others

     Easily angered/irritated

     Irresponsible decision making

Superficial “charm” or powers of persuasion

Broken moral compass or limited conscience

     Manipulative

     Sense of entitlement and/or impunity

     Social deviant

Opportunistic in all the wrong ways

SOUND LIKE ANYONE YOU KNOW?

Political Polygraph--Liar, Liar, Democracy on Fire

A hallmark of Trump’s so-called “leadership” is the sheer volume of lies he and his cronies produce on a daily basis. During his first term, the estimate is that Trump issued 30,573 lies and misleading claims over his 4-year term (Washington Post 01-24-21, and he is on track for that same rate and more. While we cannot keep up with all the lies, we will attempt to call some of them out here. And unlike Trump, we will try to “truth-proof” them.

THE LIE: Elon says that his purge of our national institutions is correcting the

crime of “all of these dead people that are collecting social security”.

THE TRUTH: People who pass away don’t receive social security checks once the

agency has been notified. Funeral directors fill out a form (SSA-721) and fax it

directly to social security.

TRUMP AND ELON ARE LYING TO YOU.

SPREAD THE NEWS.

LET’S ALL GET INTO THE HABIT OF USING SNOPES

(https://www.snopes.com) TO VERIFY THE CONSTANT LIES

Support Groups & Advocacy

Empowering Our Community Together:

Although, for now, we have very few avenues open to stop our country from going down this dangerous path since the other side is controlling government via Congress, the Court, and the Presidency in addition to a big bunch of know-nothing billionaires led by Elon. Consequently, we need advocacy groups more than ever. We will feature them as much as we can in this space.

Heroes and Zeroes

Awesome Champions Celebrated; Epic Failures Exposed:

ZEROES: Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and ALL the rest of the MAGA crowd

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

HEROES: Costco who responded to shareholders requesting that it withdraw from DEI policies with, “Our Board has considered this proposal and believes that our commitment to an enterprise rooted in respect and inclusion is appropriate and necessary.”

HEROES: Mike Pence (Gasp!) who told his former boss, “Mr. President, Ukraine did not ‘start’ this war. Russia launched an unprovoked and brutal invasion claiming hundreds of thousands of lives. The Road to Peace must be built on the Truth.”

HEROES: Former NFL player for the Minnesota Vikings, Chris Kluwe, who was arrested after he called out plans to put a MAGA plaque in a public library, saying “you are [just] replacing a swastika with a red hat,” and telling law enforcement as they tried to remove him that he would be engaging in the “time-honored American tradition of peaceful civil disobedience.”

HEROES: Governor J B Pritzker who warned about authoritarianism: “It took the Nazis one month, three weeks, two days, and 40 minutes to dismantle a

constitutional republic. When that fire starts to burn, every good person better be ready to man a post with a bucket of water if you want to stop it from raging out of control.”

Finding Joy—Happiness as Resistance:

Music has lifted hearts this past month…including Kendrick Lamar who told the

huge national audience watching the Superbowl:

“The Revolution is about to be televised.

You picked the right time, but the wrong guy.”

And just in general, Taylor Swift, whose lyrics spoke directly to many of us:

“And in plain sight you hid,

But you are what you did.

And I’ll forget you, but I’ll never forgive

The smallest man who ever lived.”

Please find happiness where you can.

We need it now more than ever.

Coming Soon—Watch This Space:

We are working on:

      An online playlist

Putting together a podcast in the next several months!

A marketplace that would include the opportunity to buy tee shirts and buttons.
